This blog post relates to the WOW TRK affiliate network which closed in 2020. This blog post remains to preserve some history of the affiliate network.
The information in this blog post may be incorrect or no longer relevant.
From the 1st August 2019 we will be requiring all Affiliates to use #ad in any social media posts they publish. We are always looking for ways to improve our network and offer a more transparent experience for users that are seeing WOW TRK ads.
New affiliates that have signed up over the past few weeks may have noticed that it has been a requirement, that you agree to include #ad in your social media posts already but we are now announcing this to existing affiliates so that this requirement is consistent throughout the network.
Please ensure that any social media posts that are posted on or after the 1st August include “#ad” within the text copy of the social media post. Failure to do so, may result in your commission not being paid for the traffic delivered via this ad and in some extreme cases your affiliate account being suspended.
This isn’t a requirement though for paid ads on social media platforms that are already clearly identified as an ad. For example “Sponsored” ads in the sidebar of Facebook. This is just a requirement on social media posts where it isn’t clear that it’s an ad.
If you have any questions about this change please don’t hesitate to contact your account manager or our affiliate support team.
